Just had a chat with my best mate from my broadcast days. He still works for Sky Sports and just done Arsenal getting trashed by Man Utd in 3D.

He was a bit sceptical but he thought the pics were stunning.

Inside word has it, that the £4.5k sets provided free to Sky for their test transmission in the pubs have convinced Sky to try a deal with the manufacturers. Looks like they might get a result too.

Insider dealing means that Sky will broadcast the World Cup in 3D and publicise the fact if the manufacturers can churn out the new 3D ready sets for £1k or less to suck in the public.

No doubt Currys will be first on the bandwagon with their very dodgy extended warranty plan.

How us engineers will keep up with this new technology is beyond me. I have only just managed to get spares for LED LCDs. Next project then. Get spares for a £4k+ set that will be sold for less than a grand at a sensible price.

Don't hold your breath!

I had the misfortune of watching a film yesterday called "My bloody valentine" i seem to think thsi was mad for the 3D market as all the effects seemed to fly at you,I reckon the film would have been watchable if i had a 3D TV .

Went to see Avatar in 3D last week, very impressive, although not as good as the 3D effects in Universal in Orlando,
especially the Terminator one.

Sounds a good idea Keith ,although the 3000 had very poor convergence ,it could work, but i think if you were watching some late night entertainment and the lady without clothes sat on your lap you might buy one

Methinks some mechanical attatchments would be required to complete the illusion. :badboy:

I just seen Sky 3D
Not a football fan but the match on saturday was for the first time shown in 3D at a local pub in Retford. I'm not that impressed with most things in the TV world nowadays BUT THIS IS ******* GOOD I was amazed on certain shots the players seem to be in the pub and picture quality was fantastic only problem are those silly glasses :shades: :shades:
