Right, I thought I would make some short videos on "How To" for the forum. How To Upload Files, How To Register etc. I have a Sony DCR-HC35E Mini DV with USB. It is installed on the PC and I have Cyberlink Suite installed on the computer but Power Producer seems to want to put everything onto a DVD and that is not what I want. I am downloading the Sony Picture Motion Browser but if it is anything like their supplied Picture Package it will be pants! What is the best editing program do make short, high quality image, video clips for the forum???? Please consider my budget!

Thanks Gem. I have now found a program that records the desktop as I show How to do whatever it is I am showing. It saves as .avi or .swf and I can then use windows movie maker. Thanks to CeeDee for explaining how good movie maker is.

Ok, yes Windows Movie maker is a great tool to get started with,it does have its limitations,ie you cant complete a project and burn it straight to DVD etc,you can make a good cd or even a svcd, but as a video editor its agreat start,it teaches you all the basics ,once you can use it to its full capacity then move on,ulead now known, as corel do some really great software, again easy to use,Adobe do premiere yak yak yak not for me!!!There is Sony vegas which is good but takes some navigating, another popular one is Cyberlink power director, quite good worth a try,i do use Ulead for alot of editing, but one i do use is combustian which took me 2 years to get the hang off,it was used to make Films like PleasantVille and Shindlers list, one of the reasons was its ease to transfer and edit Film and use one or more indivi$ual colours. Do remember this ,when you do your home movies its on a video format and as much editing as you try to do you can never make it look like a real film ,next week i will post a tip on how to nearly make it look like you shoot it in 35mm Kodak film stock
