Hi,

I live in a small town and the frogs have appeared in my pond. No big surprise there, but a sign of maybe spring. But what was a surprise, was when I pulled back the curtains to see a huge buzzard landed in the back garden. We do get a number around here, mainly sitting on telephone poles, one has taken to sitting on TV aerials. Don't know what that does for the reception. But obviously is now much braver. But not that brave, for this scared it off, my wife noticed something moving, so curious went to see what it had been attacking. Turns out its been eating the frogs as they head for the pond. Makes a change, once had a rabbit dropped into the garden from a great height. I don't think it is a good idea for the neighbours to have there rabbits or gunnie pigs out or maybe even cats may be at risk.

Well the evening wildlife in our back garden is the cane toad.

Picture attached which should appeal to Chris, toady fashion :mwah:

In my youth I used to chase them around the yard in my mini ( Morris Mini that is ), they are fair game on the roads here, however they are so tough that even a car tyre may not kill them

We have had a Possum fall down the chimney a couple of times in the middle of the night, the sooty footprints make a right mess.

The snakes aren't too bad in suburbia, once again protected species , again :chopper: . Get a few redback spiders here, the funnel webs are mainly around Sydney.

More snakes at out last house, the neighbour sat down on his lounge chair to find out he was sitting next to a Joe Blake, couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke, that'll teach him top pee over his wall into my yard in his drunken stupor :tut: :tut:

What a diffence 10 days can make, we have had a drenching of rain last week and apparently it has flushed out the snakes, 7 people have been reported as bitten by snakes in South East Queensland in the last day. Also reported on the news was that Australia has 22 of the 25 world's most venomous snakes. Now anyone for cheap flights to Aus :stop:
